The Melton Center for Jewish Studies offers 200 interdisciplinary courses that comprise Jewish studies at Ohio State.
In coordination with nine affiliated academic departments and represented by 30 professors, the Melton Center oversees Jewish studies majors, minors, and graduate students and offers a variety of scholarships.
The center hosts academic conferences, attracts visiting scholars, and provides financial support for study in Israel. In addition, it orchestrates diverse educational programs and cultural events for the university and the larger Columbus community. Such offerings include concerts, films, panel discussions, and lectures on topics as varied as Jewish participation in the Civil Rights movement to twentieth century Israeli composers.
The Melton Center was the first center of its kind established at any American public university. Contact: Program coordinators Lori Fireman, fireman.2@osu.edu or Nancy Golden, golden.45@osu.edu. Read more: http://www.meltoncenter.osu.edu
