Spotlight on … Professional Golf Management Program

The newest major in the Department of Horticulture and Crop Science has graduated its first group of students.
Ben Schillig (spring 2008) is currently employed as the assistant golf pro at the Montesoro Golf and Social Club in California. Others are employed by the Breakers Palm Beach Ocean Course in Florida and Harbour Town Golf Links (Sea Pines Resort) in South Carolina.
PGM requires a business minor and is geared toward golfers with a 10 or better handicap who wish to become general managers of a country club or golf resort. Students are required to join the OSU Golf Club, take a minimum 16 months of internship and become active members of the PGM student organization.
