1-3-2007 CIO leaving university for USCIlee Rhimes, chief information officer at Ohio State since November 2000, will resign his position effective Feb. 1. Rhimes has accepted a position as vice provost for Information Technology Services and chief information officer at the University of Southern California. Pending Board of Trustees approval, Susan Metros will serve as interim CIO and David Veres will serve as interim senior deputy CIO until Rhimes’ replacement can be found. The CIO’s role of executive sponsor of the SIS project will be filled on a permanent basis by the executive vice president and provost and the senior vice president for business. Under Rhimes’ leadership, a universitywide information technology strategy was developed at OSU that is a national model. In addition, Rhimes and his team helped implement enterprise-wide solutions related to human resources and the general ledger, including application of these solutions to the OSU Research Foundation.
