1-4-2007 By: Julia Harris Winter arts previewBetween the College of the Arts, the Wexner Center and the Schottenstein Center, there’s almost always some kind of artistic endeavor taking place on campus. From the Contemporary Music Festival running Jan. 31 through Feb. 4 to the International Screen Series slated for every Friday in January, winter quarter packs variety and versatility into the campus art scene.
From the College of the Arts, one showcase event is the recital “Comrades: A Retrospective,” at 3 p.m. Jan. 14 at the Longaberger Alumni House. This free event, part of the Faculty and Guest Recital Series, features Patrick Woliver, tenor; Loretta Robinson, reader; Robert Bode, reader/poet; and Lee David Thompson, piano.
A popular event at the Wexner Center will be the second annual International Performing Arts Series for Familes. Spanning several evenings in January, February and May, the series includes theater performances by Canadian troupe DynamO Théâtre, Belgian group Pantalone and Teater Refleksíon, a group from Denmark.
In the following listing, you’ll find many more arts and entertainment offerings for winter quarter. It is an extensive sampling of the diversity of talent on view for the next 10 weeks.
