Wise named John Glenn School director

Charles Wise, professor in the School of Public and Environmental Affairs, professor of philanthropic studies and director of the Parliamentary Development Project for Ukraine at Indiana University, has been appointed director of the John Glenn School of Public Affairs.

Subject to approval by the Board of Trustees, the appointment will be effective Aug. 1. Anand Desai will continue to serve as the interim director until then.

Wise is a scholar whose research and teaching interests focus on public organizations and management, public law and democratization in comparative politics and administration.

Wise has served in the United States Department of Justice, first as special assistant for Policy Analysis in the Office of Legislative Affairs and then as director of Intergovernmental Affairs, and as a consultant to the U.S. Air Safety Commission. He is a past president of the National Association of Schools of Public Affairs and Administration.
