Recognitions

Warren Dick, Environment and Natural Resources, received the No-Till Researcher/Educator Award for 2007 from the Ohio No-Till Council at their meeting, Plain City, Dec. 4.

Dorota Grejner-Brzezinska, Civil and Environmental Engineering and Geodetic Science, was named a Fellow of the International Association of Geodesy for her years of service to the organization.

Prasun Sinha, Computer Science and Engineering, co-wrote “CMAC: An Energy Efficient MAC Layer Protocol Using Convergent Packet Forwarding for Wireless Sensor Networks” with graduate students Sha Liu and Kai-Wei Fan, which was selected among the top four papers at the IEEE Communications Society Conference on Sensor, Mesh and Ad Hoc Communications and Networks, San Diego, Calif., June 19.


Service

Hojjat Adeli, Civil and Environmental Engineering and Geodetic Science, was appointed to the editorial boards of International Journal on Interactive Design and Manufacturing, Journal of Mechanics in Medicine and Biology, Reviews in the Neurosciences and Neural Processing Letters.

Gordon Clark, Industrial and Systems Engineering, was chair of the Statistics Division of the American Society for Quality from July 1, 2006, until June 30, 2007.

Joe Heimlich, Environment and Natural Resources, was the coordinator and facilitator for the working group “Roadmap to Research on the DESD” at the UNEP, UNESCO 4th World Conference on Environmental Education, Ahmedabad, India, Nov. 24-29.

Robert Rapp, Materials Science and Engineering, served on the external advisory committee of the MSE Department at KAIST, Korian Advanced Institute for Science and Technology, in Daejeon, Korea, October 2007.
