The eighth annual Multiple Perspectives on Access, Inclusion and Disability conference will take place in the Pfahl Executive Education and Conference Center. Among the 30 sessions will be a track exploring disability and the law, including “Access by Design: From Minimum Compliance to Universal Design” and “Guardianship and Self Determination.” To register, visit mpconference.osu.edu.

Change Happens! Conference looks to future

Community Research Partners, a partnership of the John Glenn School of Public Affairs, United Way of Central Ohio, the city of Columbus and the Franklin County Commissioners, is hosting Change Happens! from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. at COSI. The conference features Cass Sunstein, University of Chicago law professor and author; the nonprofit research group The Institute for the Future OFTF; a local innovators panel; and new data tools available through CRP to keep on top of local trends. Faculty life: Small college vs. big university

The Graduate School invites graduate students, postdoctoral researchers and faculty from all disciplines to participate in an informal panel discussion and reception with Kenyon College faculty from 10 a.m.-noon in the Faculty Club Grand Lounge.

Professors from representative fields in the arts, sciences and humanities will discuss answers to a variety of questions that pertain to life as a faculty member at a liberal arts college compared to a large public research university. Guest instructors highlight TangoOSU event
April 12
TangoOSU, the Argentine Tango student organization at Ohio State, in collaboration with the Ohio Union Activities Board is organizing a special event featuring guest instructors and performers Agape and Somer of Chicago.
Two intermediate/advanced lessons will be given at 3:15 and 5 p.m. (beginners are welcome and will benefit from these lessons). Students pay $6 each lesson or $10 for both; general admission is $10 per lesson or $15 for both. At 7 p.m. there will be a free beginner lesson, performance and milonga, including superb food in the tradition of the TangoOSU special parties. The entire event will be held in 213 Pomerene. Annual Medical Student-Alumni Golf Scramble registering now
Deadline April 25
The ninth annual Medical Student-Alumni Golf Scramble will be May 3 at Champions Golf Course, 3900 Westerville Road. Rain date is May 17. Kirwan’s new film series coincides with symposium
April 18-19
Rocío Quispe-Agnoli, a professor at Michigan State, and Richard Cameron, a professor at Illinois-Chicago, will be the keynote speakers at the Kirwan Institute’s 11th annual Symposium on Hispanic and Luso-Brazilian Literatures, Cultures and Linguistics, called “(Re)defining Identities in Moments of Transition.”

“Princesas,” a 2005 film, also will be shown for free at 7:30 p.m. April 28 in 180 Hagerty Hall. Registration for the symposium is $20 for

Learn the advantages of breastfeeding
April 17
Madonna Fasimpaur, former president of the Ohio Lactation Consultant Association, will conduct a free presentation on breastfeeding, one in a series of events focusing on women’s health issues sponsored by “Healthy Women, Healthy Families,” a student-run organization at OSU. The lecture, which will take place at 7 p.m. in 264 Newton Hall, will include light refreshments.
Breastfeeding has many advantages over formula feeding. It benefits the health, nutrition, immune system and psychological development of infants.
