Find Power Outage Assistance on the onCampus Bulletin Board

The widespread power outages that came along with the remnants of Hurricane Ike over the weekend have created numerous specific needs among many members of the campus community.

President Gee sent an e-mail to members of the community Tuesday to remind faculty and staff that shower facilities are available free of charge to faculty and staff, and that the campus dining halls are up and running. Gee also encouraged flexibility for faculty and staff who might need alternative work schedules and arrangements.

As a way to try to help people find any other specific assistance they need, the onCampus Bulletin Board has added a temporary topic for Power Outage Help, where faculty and staff can post both requests for and offers of aid. Need extra ice? Have a chainsaw to lend or some spare space in your freezer? Let the bulletin board community know.
