Pay stubs no longer being printed
The Office of Human Resources (OHR) is no longer issuing paper paychecks and stubs; the last ones were printed and distributed on Dec. 22 for the biweekly pay period and Dec. 30 for the monthly pay period.

Employees who have signed up for traditional direct deposit or a paycard should now access their pay stub information online or via the touch-tone telephone system. Leave balances — such as sick leave, vacation, military and compensatory time — are included in the pay stub information being displayed online.

Employees who have not enrolled in a direct deposit option will now receive their paychecks at their home address via U.S. mail sometime after payday.
Additional information on the university’s Paperless Pay initiative, and instructions on how to sign up for traditional direct deposit or a paycard, are available online at http://hr.osu.edu/payroll.

Movie premieres highlight GLBT Awareness Weeks events

The Ohio premieres of two new, highly acclaimed feature-length movies about GLBT experiences, The Graffiti Artist and Brother to Brother, highlight activities scheduled for Ohio State's annual GLBT and Ally Awareness Weeks, from Jan. 12-27. Events are sponsored by GLBT Student Services, the Multicultural Center and other departments and student organizations.

The Graffiti Artist, a film by James Bolton (director of Eban and Charley), will be shown at 8 p.m. Jan. 12 in OSU's Multicultural Center, on the fourth floor of the Ohio Union. The film is a documentary-like portrayal of a Portland, Ore. skateboarder and tagger who discovers that there is more to life when he meets and falls for another male tagger.

Brother to Brother will be shown at 8:30 p.m. Jan. 16 in the Saxbe Auditorium of the Moritz College of Law, as part of a national GLBT student of color summit being held at Ohio State over the Martin Luther King, Jr. weekend. The film follows the emotional and psychological journey of a young Black gay artist growing up today as he discovers the lesbian and gay legacy of the Harlem Renaissance. Both films are free and open to the public.

Activities also will include a Winter "Gayla," a mixer for Ohio State's GLBTA community featuring a performance by Katie Reider; and discussions and presentations on the struggle for transgender rights, career issues for openly GLBT college graduates, how to be a GLBT ally, and future directions for the GLBT movement in light of the 2004 elections.

For more information, visit the GLBT Student Services' Web site at http://multiculturalcenter.osu.edu/glbtss or contact GLBT Student Services at 688-8449.
