Appointments
Joseph F. Donnermeyer, Human and Community Resource Development, was appointed an adjunct professor at the University of New England, New South Wales, Australia, where he also serves as the International Research Coordinator for the Centre for Rural Crime, Safety and Security.

The following Recreational Sports staff have been appointed to these positions: Tyler Eskew and Danny Elswick, maintenance works; John Katsares, personal training coordinator; and Benjamin Roberts, assistant director of aquatic operations.

Ken Kaiser and Beau Rugg, Recreational Sports, were both awarded the Carlisle O. Dollings Award from the Central Ohio Football Association, Columbus, Nov. 3.
Mitch Lerner, History, Newark, won the Mary Ball Washington Fulbright Distinguished Chair at UC-Dublin for next year.

Nancy Ryan-Wenger, Nursing, received the “Researcher of the Year” award at the Ohio Association of Advanced Practice Nurses’ annual statewide meeting, Nov. 5.

Duxin Sun, Pharmacy, received the American Association of Pharmaceutical Scientists (AAPS) Meitorious Manuscript Award at the 2004 AAPS Annual Meeting and Exposition, Nov. 7-11.

Don Thomas, Human and Community Resource Development, received the Pomerene Award for Excellence in Teaching, Nov. 3.

Mark Tucker, Human and Community Resource Development, received the Price Award for Outstanding Advising, Oct. 24.


Service
Dave DeAngelo, Recreational Sports, was elected president of the Ohio Recreational Sports Association (ORSA). For the next two years, DeAngelo will oversee the operation of ORSA and its member institutes.

Georgina Dodge, African American and African Studies, has been appointed to the Board of Trustees for Planned Parenthood of Central Ohio, Inc.

Theresa Ferrari, Extension, serves on the Research and Evaluation Committee of the National Association of Extension 4-H Agents (NAE4-HA).

Rob Livesey, Architecture, was named for a second term as education director for the Columbus chapter of the American Institute of Architects. He serves as a liaison between the chapter and local architecture programs for high school and college students.

Jaqueline Jones Royster, English, is a new board member of the Children’s Hunger Alliance.
