Graham appointed SASSO director
David Graham, formerly the director of student-athlete academic support services and learning programs at Miami University, has been named the director of Ohio State's Student-Athlete Support Services Office. Previously under the auspices of the Department of Athletics, SASSO was moved to the Office of Undergraduate Studies to integrate student-athlete advising with the academic structure, goals and spirit of college advising.

Graham's duties will include strengthening SASSO relationships with the academic colleges to implement sound academic support and communication strategies. OSU receives grant from Kellogg Foundation
Ohio State has received a $200,000 grant from the W.K. Kellogg Foundation to examine and update data and information on persistent disparities affecting African American males relative to education, health, criminal justice and employment. The foundation was established in 1930 "to help people help themselves through the practical application of knowledge and resources to improve their quality of life and that of future generations." Its programming centers around the common vision of a world in which each person has a sense of worth; accepts responsibility for self, family, community and societal well-being; and has the capacity to be productive and to help create nurturing families, responsive institutions and healthy communities.
