The newest major in the Department of Horticulture and Crop Science has graduated its first group of students.
OSU Extension is the original and most extensive outreach arm of the university. With offices run by faculty and staff in all 88 counties, Extension fulfills Ohio State’s land-grant mission to address challenges of Ohioans via non-credit programs and research-based materials.
The Melton Center for Jewish Studies offers 200 interdisciplinary courses that comprise Jewish studies at Ohio State. In coordination with nine affiliated academic departments and represented by 30 professors, the Melton Center oversees Jewish studies majors, minors, and graduate students and offers a variety of scholarships.
Public health makes the world a healthier and safer place. Ohio State’s College of Public Health is the first and only accredited school of public health in the state. Specializations include biostatistics, epidemiology, health behavior and health promotion, environmental health sciences, health services management and policy, veterinary public health, and clinical investigation.

Located in the historic Mount Vernon area in near east Columbus, the Department of African American and African Studies Community Extension Center provides community outreach and education programs designed to enhance the educational opportunities of students and improve the quality of life for children, teens, adults and senior citizens who live and work in the neighborhoods near and around the center and Columbus’ urban communities.
