SmartMoney: Ohio State a top university for return on tuition investmentThe January 2009 issue of SmartMoney magazine ranks Ohio State 11th in the nation in a study that measures the long-term value of a college education. In what it called a "twist on traditional college rankings," the magazine examined the relationship between tuition costs and graduates' earning power to measure which schools deliver the best return on tuition investment. Today: Student Life to conduct fire drill in residence hallsThe Office of Student Life will be conducting a quarterly, system-wide emergency fire evacuation drill involving the residence halls only, at 2 p.m. today (1/8). Please yield the right-of-way to the residents evacuating the buildings to get to their designated meeting points. The South Area residents will be crossing 11th & 12th Avenues. The residents of buildings in the North Area will be crossing Curl Drive. Student Life launches online film competition for studentsIn collaboration with the Inspire USA Foundation, Student Life has launched "Real to Reel,” an online film competition for OSU students to promote positive messages about mental health. Prizes include a $1,000 grand prize. Faculty and staff are asked to inform students that may be good candidates. All OSU students aged 18-24 are eligible to enter. OIT noncredit computing short coursesOIT's quarterly computing short courses are noncredit and are offered at no charge to you. In addition, the following online classes are now available: Office 2007 Overview and Xpedio. Classes fill quickly, so register online as soon as possible. Continuing Education reschedules HTML - Level 1 classContinuing Education has rescheduled HTML - Level 1, which was cancelled for this week, to 8:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Monday (1/12) in Mount Hall on West Campus. As a result of this announcement, the late fee for all university employees who register will be waived.
