TODAY: LECTURE TO FOCUS ON BLACK PANTHER PARTY

In celebration of Black History Month, Judson L. Jeffries, OSU professor of African American and African Studies will present “Comrades: A Local History of the Black Panther Party” at 6 p.m. today (2/11) at the Department of African American and African Studies Community Extension Center, 905 Mt. WOMEN’S STUDIES ACCEPTING GRANT APPLICATIONS

Women's Studies is currently accepting applications for the Mildred Munday Scholarship ($3,000), Virginia Reynolds Book Award (plaque and book awarded), and three writing award competitions ($75 each). FUTURE OF SCALABLE COMPUTING ENVIRONMENTS FEB. 21

Wen-mei Hwu, the Walter J. Sanders III-Advanced Micro Devices Endowed Chair in Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Illinois, will discuss “The Future of Scalable Computing Environments” at 2 p.m. Thursday (2/21) at Ohio State’s Wexner Center Theater. The event is presented by the Ohio Supercomputer Center Statewide Users Group and the Ralph Regula School of Computational Science, as part of the Ohio Computational Science Lecture Series. VOLUNTEERS NEEDED FOR SWIMMING AND DIVING CHAMPIONSHIPS

Ohio State and the McCorkle Aquatic Center will host the two major women’s swimming and diving championships of 2008: the Big Ten Championships Thursday (2/21)-Saturday (2/23) and the NCAA Championships Thursday (3/20)-Saturday (3/22).
