Alutto delivers State of Academic Affairs address today
In today's (2/12) State of Academic Affairs address to the University Senate, Executive Vice President and Provost Joseph Alutto will discuss the values that underlie approaches to thinking in new ways, working together more seamlessly, and focusing efforts and resources at our university. The address, "The Opportunities Ahead," will take place at 3:30 p.m. in 130 Drinko Hall. The public and university communities are invited to attend.

LIFESTYLE INTERVENTION STUDY. Volunteers, individuals ages 35-60, are being recruited for a lifestyle intervention study to modify health risk factors. The study will be conducted on the OSU campus during lunch time. Participation in the study will last approximately 12 weeks. Several blood samples and filling out of questionnaires will be required. Feb. 25: Goldberg Center "Technology and Teaching" speaker series
The Goldberg Center for Excellence in Teaching will present "It's a Collaborative World" by Barbara Gellman-Danley, vice chancellor for Academic Affairs and Systems Integration, and Kate Carey, director of Academic Innovation and Special Projects, both with the Ohio Board of Regents, at 3:30 p.m. Wednesday (2/25) in 168 Dulles Hall. Veterinary Hospital Open House to feature new diagnostic capabilities
The OSU Veterinary Hospital will host an open house from 4:30-6 p.m. Wednesday (2/25), starting in the Veterinary Hospital Auditorium, to introduce the new Computed Tomography scanner. Interim Dean John A.E. Hubbell and Valerie Samii will introduce the diagnostic technology. The event is free and open to the public. RSVP is not necessary. The CCTS houses an Office of Regulatory Support to assist researchers with tasks related to OSU IRB submissions. A range of services are available: submission packet checklist (verification of completeness of submission); IRB application and appendices review and editing; and consent and/or protocol document review and editing. Upcoming ePayroll PIN reset requirement
As part of the university's ongoing commitment to secure employee personal information and as required by our ePayroll vendor (TALX), beginning on February 15, employees accessing the ePayroll System will be prompted to change their PIN every 90 days. Changing PINs regularly is a good security practice, and changing them every 90 days is consistent with the password change policy on many important OSU systems, including the university's PeopleSoft administrative systems. Join the directors of the Third Coast International Audio Festival for a free program of unforgettable radio stories produced by some of the country's most accomplished documentary makers and by newcomers to the field. Government Career Fair scheduled for Feb. 18
A Government Career Fair will take place from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Wednesday (2/18) at the Agricultural Administration Building on Fyffe Road. BuckID required for admission. Connect with government agencies recruiting for internship and employment opportunities. Reception and exhibit featuring photographer Mohsen Shirzadian
Ohio State Newark will host a reception for photographer Mohsen Shirzadian on Friday (2/13) from 6-8 p.m. at the LeFevre Gallery. Guests will enjoy refreshments and a talk by the artist about his work, the current exhibit, "Revisiting My Birthplace: A Journey through the Camera Lens." Traffic Alert: Tuttle Park Place detour begins Feb. 16
Beginning Monday (2/16), Tuttle Park Place will be closed between Lane and Neil Avenues. Traffic on Lane Avenue turning south on Tuttle will be detoured to Neil Avenue and back to Tuttle Park; Tuttle Park traffic will be detoured to Neil to proceed to Lane. This area will be closed through April as part of a utilities expansion project to support future development in the north campus region. Pedestrian detours will also be required and sidewalks through Remembrance Park will be closed (NW corner of Tuttle and Woody Hayes); the north/south and east/west sidewalks along Woody Hayes and Tuttle will remain open.
