Lt. governor Lee Fisher to address Ohio State researchers
Ohio Lt. Gov. Lee Fisher will speak to Ohio State's research community regarding faculty as entrepreneurs and innovators from 3-4:30 p.m. Wednesday (2/18) at the Longaberger Alumni House. Meet with Fisher, who is also the director of the Ohio Department of Development, and acquire information about development and other initiatives which exist to move Ohio’s economy forward. LIFESTYLE INTERVENTION STUDY. Volunteers, individuals ages 35-60, are being recruited for a lifestyle intervention study to modify health risk factors. The study will be conducted on the OSU campus during lunch time. Participation in the study will last approximately 12 weeks. Several blood samples and filling out of questionnaires will be required. Must have access to internet. A volunteer fee will be paid. If you are interested, please e-mail gcrc.research@osumc.edu.

CCTS houses Office of Regulatory Support
The CCTS houses an Office of Regulatory Support to assist researchers with tasks related to OSU IRB submissions. A range of services are available: submission packet checklist (verification of completeness of submission); IRB application and appendices review and editing; and consent and/or protocol document review and editing. Today: Dentistry’s Annual Research Day
Dentistry’s Annual Research Day is 8:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. today (2/17) at the Biomedical Research Tower. The event features research conducted by dentistry’s biomedical researchers, dental and dental hygiene students, doctoral students, residents and fellows. More than 50 abstracts will be presented. University of Washington researcher Susan W. Herring will deliver “We Are What We Eat: Jaw Muscles and the Skull.”

Lecture today: Bernardo Fort-Brescia at COSI
Bernardo Fort-Brescia, FAIA of Arquitectonica is the KSA Confluence series guest lecturer at 6 p.m. today (2/17) in the Extreme Screen Theater at COSI. View directions to COSI. Silent auction to benefit Lake Erie education, research
Discover exciting, out-of-the-way places in the Lake Erie region at the Friends of Stone Laboratory and Ohio Sea Grant 11th Annual Winter Program and Silent Auction, from 7-9 p.m. Wednesday (2/18) at the Fawcett Center. Melinda Huntley, Ohio Sea Grant tourism program director, will present “You Thought You Knew Lake Erie.” The silent auction will benefit the programs and scholarships of Stone Lab, OSU’s island campus on Lake Erie. Dispute resolution discussed at Feb. 19 law symposium
The Moritz College of Law Ohio State Journal on Dispute Resolution’s symposium “The Future of ADR: Incorporating Dispute Resolution into Society” will take place Thursday (2/19) at the Barrister Club. Professor Nancy Rogers, former Ohio attorney general, will present the symposium’s keynote address. All OSU students, faculty and staff are welcome to attend the symposium free of charge. Call for proposals: Five Minutes of Fame
Presentation proposals are due Friday (2/27) for TELR's fourth annual "Five Minutes of Fame," which celebrates innovative technology uses and eLearning achievements from across OSU's campuses, colleges and offices. The event will be held Friday (4/24) at the Younkin Success Center as part of the Academy of Teaching's Excellence in Teaching mini-conference. Last year's session attracted more than 100 attendees. Apply to be a LeaderShape cluster facilitator
Applications are currently available for faculty and staff to serve as cluster facilitators for LeaderShape, a six-day national institute hosted for Ohio State students Monday (8/31)-Saturday (9/5). OSU Society of Women in Physics hosts summer camp for girls
The OSU Society of Women in Physics is hosting a day
camp from 9 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Monday (6/22)-Friday (6/26), to provide girls in grades 6-8 with the tools and experience to see the power and fun in physics.
