Here’s your chance to “Imagine Betty Boop in a Bollywood musical” (Cartoonbrew.com). Sita Sings the Blues, an animated masterpiece, takes the screen Friday (2/27)-Saturday (2/28). The film uses vivid colors and images to integrate Hindu iconography, Indonesian shadow puppets, and Hollywood-style animation in an irresistible result. Height, style of McMansions are what turn off neighbors

A new study provides a first glimpse of exactly what people find offensive about super-sized houses which have sprouted up in neighborhoods around the country. The results can provide guidelines for communities that are struggling to regulate the construction of these super-sized houses in existing neighborhoods, said Jack Nasar, co-author of the study and OSU professor of city and regional planning. LIFESTYLE INTERVENTION STUDY. Volunteers, individuals ages 35-60, are being recruited for a lifestyle intervention study to modify health risk factors. The study will be conducted on the OSU campus during lunch time. Participation in the study will last approximately 12 weeks. Several blood samples and filling out of questionnaires will be required. Nelson to deliver University Distinguished Lecture Feb. 19

Randy J. Nelson, Distinguished Professor of Social and Behavioral Sciences and director, Neuroscience Graduate Studies, will deliver "Seasonal Rhythms in Sex and Death: A Time to be Born and a Time to Die," at 4:30 p.m. Thursday (2/19) at 130 Saxbe Auditorium, Moritz College of Law. Continuing Education seeks Science Olympiad volunteers

The Office of Continuing Education is seeking volunteers to assist with Ohio’s 25th annual Science Olympiad, to be held on Saturday (4/18). The state tournament brings more than 2,500 fifth- through 12th-grade students, teachers and parents representing 80 middle and high schools to various locations across the Columbus campus. The OSU community is invited to attend the next OSU Libraries ReadAloud from 3-4 p.m. Thursday (2/19) at the Wexner Center Cafe as the Libraries Diversity Committee presents a program in honor of Black World Month. The program features library colleagues Deidra Herring, reading excerpts from Hair Story: Untangling the Roots of Black Hair in America and Eboni Francis reading passages from Tenderheaded: A Comb Bending Collection of Hair Stories. Thomas Dine and Dalia Mogahed will discuss “Changing Course: A New Direction for U.S. Relations with the Muslim World,” at 3:30 p.m. Friday (2/20) at Saxbe Auditorium, Moritz College of Law. Dine is director of the Syria Project with Search for Common Ground; Dalia Mogahed is executive director of the Gallup Center for Muslim Studies. Ohio State Mansfield hosts annual Fat Tuesday Celebration
