OSU MEN’S BASKETBALL NCAA TOURNAMENT TICKET DETAILSBill Jones, Ohio State assistant athletics director for ticketing, announced Sunday the policy for obtaining tickets to the Buckeyes’ 2007 NCAA first round men’s basketball game against Central Connecticut State, to be played Thursday (3/15) in Lexington, Ky. The tournament game times have not yet been announced. Check http://ohiostatebuckeyes.com for up-to-date information and further details throughout the week. OSU students, faculty and staff who ordered 2006-07 men’s basketball season tickets may place an application for a lottery ticket at the Schottenstein Center Ticket Office today (3/12). The winning lottery numbers will be posted this evening in the Schottenstein Center and online. Alamos National Laboratory, will deliver the next Mathematical Biosciences
Institute Public Lecture at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday (3/14) in the Fawcett
Center Auditorium. Perelson will discuss “HIV/AIDS: How Mathematics
Has Saved Lives.” The lecture is free and open to the public. FIRST MAJOR TEST OF CAYUSE424 SUCCESSFULThe university weathered the first major test of its new electronic proposal submission system, Cayuse424, with remarkable success. Sixty-five of 74 investigators submitting proposals to the National Institutes of Health for the February application deadlines chose Cayuse424 over the online version of Grants.Gov. All 65 Cayuse424 proposals were accepted error-free by the NIH Commons on the first attempt (compared with 74 percent of proposals nationally). More than 90 percent of faculty reported they would recommend it to their colleagues. The free public lecture by Stephen Kuusisto, OSU associate professor of English, and Robert McRuer, assistant professor of English, George Washington University will focus on the central role of what has come to be called “the coming out narrative” as it applies to the experiences of self-disclosure described in disabled, gay and lesbian narratives. RESEARCH GRANTS PROGRAM SEEKS FACULTY/STUDENT TEAM PROPOSALSTELR’s Research on Research (r2) Grants program is underway for the fourth consecutive year, and proposals are being sought from faculty who will team with undergraduate students over summer quarter to develop a multimedia research portfolio. Interdisciplinary teams are welcomed and encouraged. The Digital Union provides technology support and features the teams in an end-of-quarter showcase open to the public. Students receive a stipend and develop a research resource. Proposals are due by Friday (4/13).
