Headline newsBOB EVANS FARMS CEO TO DELIVER WINTER COMMENCEMENT ADDRESSSteven A. Davis, chairman of the board and chief executive officer of Bob Evans Farms Inc., has been selected to speak at Ohio State's winter quarter commencement. Approximately 1,800 degrees will be awarded at the ceremony, which begins at 2 p.m. on Sunday (3/16) at the Jerome Schottenstein Center. BOYLE TO PRESENT UNIVERSITY DISTINGUISHED LECTURE MARCH 5Kevin Boyle, OSU professor of history known for his charismatic speaking style and enthusiastic storytelling, will present “The Splendid Dead: An American Ordeal,” at 4:30 p.m. Wednesday (3/5) in the Wexner Center Film/Video Theater. Boyle’s most recent book, “Arc of Justice: A Saga of Race, Civil Rights, and Murder in the Jazz Age” (Henry Holt, 2004; paperback edition, 2005) won the National Book Award for non-fiction. The University Distinguished Lecture Series annually recognizes two senior faculty for their outstanding academic achievement, particularly, but not exclusively, in research, scholarship or creative activity. OIT UPGRADES CENTRAL E-MAIL SYSTEM, BEGINS PHASED ACCOUNT MIGRATIONThe hardware and software upgrade of Ohio State's central webmail/e-mail system is complete and OIT has begun a phased migrating for all central “@osu.edu” accounts. The new system is designed to be more robust, have improved functionality, and includes a redesigned webmail interface. Starting today (3/3), OIT will begin the migration of 75,000 active accounts to the new system at approximately 4,000 per day. OIT expects to complete the migration schedule by the end of March. Also today, webmail users will need to enter their lastname.# into a Migration Assistant Web page for routing to the correct server during the migration schedule. After clicking proceed, you will access the OSU Webmail login page. Read more > OHIO PRIMARY ELECTION COVERAGE ON WOSUWOSU Public Media will provide full coverage of the Ohio Primary Election on Tuesday (3/4), with follow-up coverage on Wednesday (3/5) on WOSU 820 AM and WOSU 89.7 FM. From 10-11 a.m. Tuesday WOSU 820 AM will air a special Open Line with Fred Andrle featuring an in-depth discussion about voting procedures.
