Headline newsOSU ALUMNUS RETURNS TO SPACE ON ENDEAVOUROSU College of Veterinary Medicine Alumnus Rick Linnehan (DVM 1985) will return to space for the fourth time on Tuesday (3/11) in the Space Shuttle Endeavour, Mission STS-123. Scheduled to lift off at 2:28 a.m., this is only the second night launch in the past five years. The crew will deliver the Japanese Kibo Logistics Module and the Canadian Dextre robotics system to the International Space Station. Linnehan is the first veterinarian to be a NASA astronaut. During this mission, he will perform several space walks.
OSU EXTENSION SPECIALISTS EXPLORING GREENHOUSE TECHNOLOGY IN ISRAELOSU Extension horticulture and green industry specialists, along with other Ohio industry professionals, will explore new technologies, ideas and opportunities with Israel through the Ohio Green Industry Technological and Trade Mission. The weeklong trip, set for mid-March, is sponsored by the Cleveland-based Ohio-Israel Agricultural Initiative of The Negev Foundation and OSU Extension. The group traveling to Israel hopes to create opportunities for collaboration and trade between Ohio and the Middle East country. Read more > UNIVERSITY LIBRARIES' COURSE ENHANCEMENT GRANTSUniversity Libraries is accepting proposals for the 2008 Course Enhancement Grant program. Grants of $2,000 will be awarded to instructors for the enhancement of courses by substantially integrating library resources and/or incorporating information literacy instruction. The deadline for proposals is Monday (4/21) for courses to be taught during summer or autumn quarters 2008. Twelve students will get paid $3,500 to conduct 10 weeks of full-time, independent research with an OSU faculty member this summer. MORITZ COLLEGE SEEKING JURORS FOR MOCK TRIALSThe Clinical Programs at the Moritz College of Law is seeking faculty/staff to serve as jurors at mock trials to be held at 4:15 p.m. Thursday (4/3), Monday (4/7), Thursday (4/10) and Monday (4/14) in the Moot Court Room (room 249) at the College of Law. The judges in the cases will be sitting judges from around the state of Ohio. Jurors will hear an entire case and then discuss their verdict and impressions of the trial with the law students and judges after the case.
