Headline newsCANCER RESEARCH AT THE JAMES TO BENEFIT FROM NETJETS GIFTThe OSU Comprehensive Cancer Center and the James Cancer Hospital and Solove Research Institute at Ohio State on Wednesday (3/12) received a gift of $12.5 million from NetJets, Inc. of Columbus to launch a grassroots biking event that is projected to raise more than $60 million during the next six years, and more than $20 million annually thereafter. All proceeds from the annual bike-a-thon will support cancer research at Ohio State. NetJets will underwrite for six years a major bike-a-thon in Ohio that will attract thousands of cyclists and volunteers. The first event is scheduled for September 2009. Read more >
TECH CORRIDOR PROJECT HELPS LAND COLUMBUS ON FORBES LISTColumbus has achieved a reputation it's been trying to gain for years: the No. 1 up-and-coming tech city in America, according to a list published by www.Forbes.com. An article published Wednesday (3/12) in The Columbus Dispatch online elaborated on the Forbes list, and noted that the most recent initiative to increase tech-related jobs involves the city and Ohio State working together to develop a tech corridor on the west side of state Route 315 that could spur the growth of hundreds of small businesses.
