GEE TO PRESENT NANOTECHNOLOGY AWARD MARCH 26

President E. Gordon Gee will present the Outstanding Achievement Award in Nanotechnology to renowned Harvard University Chemistry Professor George Whitesides at 4:30 p.m. Wednesday (3/26) in 1008 Evans Lab. College of Engineering Dean William Baeslack will deliver the opening remarks. Whitesides will conduct a seminar on "Unconventional Nanofabrication" following the award presentation. The event is sponsored by the NSF Nanoscale Science and Engineering Center and the Institute of Materials Research and co-hosted by the Department of Chemistry. TODAY: WOMEN IN LEADERSHIP FOCUS OF DISCUSSION

Faculty, staff and students are invited to “A Conversation with Two Women You Should Know” from 4:30-6 p.m. today (3/24) in the Smith Seminar Room in the Physics Research Building. Barbara Kunz, president of Health and Life Sciences Global Business, Battelle, and Shirley Rogers-Reece, vice president and general manager, McDonald’s will discuss their careers, accomplishments and the unique challenges women face in leadership positions. The Center for Cosmology and Astro-Particle Physics is presenting a public lecture, "The View from the Center of the Universe" featuring Joel Primack, Ph.D. and Nancy Ellen Abrams, lawyer, writer and former Fulbright scholar based on their ground-breaking new book, from 5-6 p.m. today (3/24) at The Blackwell Inn Ballroom. WOSU CELEBRATES GRAND OPENING OF NEW STUDIOS TODAY

In honor of the grand opening of WOSU Public Media’s new radio studios at the Fawcett Center, WOSU will hold an open house from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. today (3/24). Guests are invited to tour the new state-of-the-art studios, meet WOSU personalities and learn more about WOSU and digital radio. OSU President E. Gordon Gee also will be a guest on WOSU 820 AM’s Open Line with Fred Andrle today from 10-11 a.m. and Boyce Lancaster, host of classical music on WOSU 89.7, will be broadcasting during this time as well. TELR ACCEPTING GRANT APPLICATIONS FOR INNOVATIONS IN eLEARNING

TELR is now accepting applications for a new initiative to promote eLearning experimentation at Ohio State. The Expertise Grant program enables faculty to collaborate with TELR eLearning consultants to develop and test their ideas for teaching and learning with technology. Faculty can request from 20 to 100 hours of TELR staff support, as well as up to $10,000 in funding, to support instructional innovation. Up to two projects, twice per year, can be supported. EVENTS TO IMPACT PARKING, TRAFFIC ON CAMPUS TODAY

Two events taking place on campus today (3/24) will impact parking and traffic: The 2008 MasterCard National Invitational Tournament at St. John Arena (7 p.m.) and the Bruce Springsteen concert at the Schottenstein Center (7:30 p.m.) Please anticipate parking shortages and traffic delays in the area during these times. PRESCRIPTION DRUG BENEFIT INFORMATIONAL SESSIONS

Human Resources is offering two informational sessions to help enrolled members better understand and use their university prescription drug benefit. Learn about your new pharmacy benefit manager, Express Scripts and the online tools available at express-scripts.com. The sessions are scheduled for noon Wednesday (3/26) at 1590 N. High St. (room 430) and 8:30 a.m. Thursday (3/27) at 660 Ackerman Rd. (room 460A). Register online. This is a Your Plan For Health point-earning activity.
