iMix 108 - Best of iMix episode to air

Ohio State Big Ten Network programming will air at 4 p.m. Thursday (3/19), 4 a.m. Monday (3/23), and 10 a.m. Wednesday (3/25). Follow Ohio State's student-led Buckeye Bullet 2 team as they attempt to break a land speed record; visit the Urban Arts Space in a historic downtown building; and look at a new OSU initiative called Scarlet, Gray, and Green. Retirement Income Planning Workshop March 24

Human Resources is hosting a Retirement Income Planning workshop will take place from noon-1 p.m. Tuesday (3/24) at South Campus Gateway, Suite 430, Room 425. Topics include a retirement planning roadmap, crunching the numbers, public pension consideration, tax-advantaged savings vehicles and protecting against risk. Register online.

Personalized Health Care Seminar March 27

Daniel W. Nebert, University of Cincinnati Medical Center will present "From Human Genetics/Genomics to Pharmacogenetics/Genomics: Past Lessons, Future Directions," from noon -1 p.m. Friday (3/27) in 105 Biomedical Research Tower. Register for Seeing the Light: Shaping Reflection on Service

The Service-Learning Initiative is presenting "Seeing the Light: Shaping Reflection on Service," a workshop on building effective reflection exercises for service-learning students, from 3:30-4:30 p.m. Friday (4/3) in 400 Stillman Hall. Topics include how to fit reflection to the purpose of the course/service project, how to make midcourse corrections, and how to assess students’ reflections. Register online.

Change of status: How to become an H-1B March 25

How can you change your status from an F-1, F-2, J-1, J-2, or H-4 to H-1B? To learn about the process of becoming an H-1B temporary worker with Ohio State, plan to attend a workshop organized by OIA immigration specialists to be held from noon-1 p.m. Wednesday (3/25) in 122 Oxley Hall. Registration required because of limited seating. RSVP to Oana Falasca by Tuesday (3/24).

April 30: Increasing Knowledge of Our Refugee Communities

Plan to attend an Increasing Knowledge of Our Refugee Communities workshop on Thursday (4/30) in the Biomedical Research Tower auditorium. Two sessions are scheduled: Promising Practices for Social Service Providers from 9 a.m.-noon, and Serving Refugees in a Healthcare Setting from 1:30-4:30 p.m. The workshops are free, but you must register by Friday (4/17). Health, Race & Research conference March 30-31

The College of Public Health will co-sponsor "Health, Race & Research: Community Engagement to Eliminate Health Disparities," Monday (3/30)-Tuesday (3/31) at the Blackwell Conference Center. Other co-sponsors are the Center for Minority Health in the University of Pittsburgh's Graduate School of Public Health and Ohio State's Center for Clinical and Translational Science.
