Headline newsNBC’S BRIAN WILLIAMS TO SPEAK AT SPRING COMMENCEMENTNBC Nightly News anchor Brian Williams will be the speaker for Ohio State’s spring commencement, set for 1 p.m. Sunday (6/8) at Ohio Stadium. Williams, who anchors the nation’s highest-rated evening news program, co-hosted the Obama-Clinton debate in Cleveland earlier this year. Since joining NBC News in 1993, Williams has become one of the nation’s foremost television journalists and is only the seventh anchor and managing editor in the history of NBC Nightly News. ANNUAL SMITH LECTURE APRIL 22The Department of Physics is presenting the 46th Annual Alpheus Smith Lecture at 8 p.m. Tuesday (4/22) in 100 Independence Hall. Ahmed H. Zewail, Linus Pauling Professor of Chemical Physics and Professor of Physics, California Institute of Technology, will deliver a public lecture, "Mysteries of Time.” Zewail won the 1999 Nobel Prize in Chemistry for his pioneering developments in the world of femtoscience, which explores the ultrafast dynamics of molecular processes. The featured speaker is Barbara Campbell-Ker, executive director, Hospice Witwatersrand and vice chairperson, Hospice Palliative Care Association of South Africa. Ohio State faculty and students with interests in African health issues will share their work through poster displays.
