Register now for NSF Early CAREER Awards workshop April 14
Join a workshop to help applicants develop the education/outreach portion of proposals for the National Science Foundation Early CAREER Award from 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m. Tuesday (4/14) in 1080 Physics Research Building (Smith Seminar Room). Disability services seeks award nominations
Nominations are being sought for the Dick Maxwell Award, presented to a faculty or staff member who has made an outstanding contribution to a student with a disability or to the Office for Disability Services. April 11: KSA hosts A Matter of Opinion
The Knowlton School of Architecture will host "A Matter of Opinion: The Qualifications of Contemporary Architectural Criticism" from 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturday (4/11) in the Knowlton Hall Auditorium. The event is free and open to the public. The discussions taking place will survey and analyze the techniques of description, discrimination and discernment in relation to the issues of architectural criticism today. Read more >

William B. Malarkey, professor of Internal Medicine and director, Clinical Research Center at the OSU Medical Center will deliver "Take Control of Your Aging!" from 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m. Thursday (4/16) in the Faculty Club Grand Lounge. The program is hosted by University Faculty and Staff Wellness Program and Fellowship of Christian Faculty and Staff. Registration open for ASFW spring conference on leadership
The Association of Staff and Faculty Women is accepting registrations for its annual spring conference, “Influencing Through Leadership: Women at OSU — Past, Present and Future,” to be held from 1-5:30 p.m. Wednesday (5/6) at the Blackwell Inn and Conference Center. Learn about women in leadership at Ohio State, identify professional development resources, and network with university women. The cost has been reduced this year. Register online by Thursday (4/30). Dentistry: Wong to deliver Distinguished Lecture April 23
The College of Dentistry’s Office of Research will present a Distinguished Lecture featuring David Wong, a leading researcher in oral cancer and saliva diagnostics from 11:15 a.m.-12:30 p.m. Thursday (4/23) in 1187 Postle Hall. Wong, an associate dean of research at the UCLA School of Dentistry and a Fellow of the American Association for the Advancement of Sciences, will deliver “Salivary Diagnostics.” The lecture is free and open to all OSU medical professionals. Tickets available for Contemporary Music Festival
The OSU Women's Glee Club, Chorale, Symphonic Bands, Collegiate Winds, Symphony Orchestra, and Wind Symphony will perform the music of Jennifer Higdon as part of the Contemporary Music Festival, at 8 p.m. Friday (4/17) in Weigel Hall auditorium. Head and neck cancer screenings available
Ohio State’s Comprehensive Cancer Center – James Cancer Hospital and Solove Research Institute will offer free head and neck cancer screenings from 8 a.m.-noon Friday (4/24) in the first-floor clinic at The James. Anyone suffering from such symptoms as persistent sore(s) of the mouth, hoarseness lasting longer than three weeks, sore throat that persists for more than six weeks, or swelling in the neck for more than six weeks is encouraged to schedule an appointment.
