BILL CLINTON TO SPEAK AT COMMENCEMENT

Former U.S. President Bill Clinton will be the speaker for Ohio State’s spring commencement, set for 1 p.m. Sunday, June 10, at Ohio Stadium. Clinton was elected the 42nd President of the United States in 1992, and won reelection in 1996. He was invited to speak by Ohio State’s Commencement Speaker Committee, which is comprised of students, faculty and staff. “Ohio State is honored to welcome the former president to Ohio Stadium for this important celebration of scholarship,” said President Karen A. Holbrook. “President Clinton is a prominent leader with extraordinary insight into the issues that our graduates will face, and I’m sure his words will be an inspiration.” Read more >

onCAMPUS BULLETIN BOARD LAUNCHED

Have something to sell? Offer a service after work? Have an award you’re proud of? onCampus recently launched an online bulletin board for all faculty and staff that is designed to foster an online community. It is a place to exchange goods, services, information and ideas, and provides forums for posting meeting notices, awards, classifieds and events. To access the site, faculty and staff members must enter their OSU Internet ID (i.e., smith.41) and password. To post information to the Bulletin Board, users must first sign up for an account by clicking on the “Register” button.  Detailed instructions are available. MOSER NAMED TO KELLOGG FOUNDATION BOARD

Bobby Moser, dean of the college of Food, Agricultural, and Environmental Sciences, was recently appointed to the W. K. Kellogg Foundation, and will serve for a renewable three-year term. The Kellogg Foundation was established in 1930 to help people help themselves through the practical application of knowledge and resources to improve their quality of life and that of future generations. To achieve the greatest impact, the Foundation targets its grants toward specific areas, including health, food systems and rural development, youth and education, and philanthropy and volunteerism.

COLORADO STATE BIOETHICS TO SPEAK

Bernard E. Rollin, Ph.D, a bioethicist who taught the first-ever class on veterinary medical ethics will be speaking on "Science and Ethics" on May 10 from noon -1 p.m. in the Veterinary Teaching Hospital Auditorium. He is currently a University Distinguished Professor of philosophy, biomedical sciences, animal sciences and serves as University Bioethicist at Colorado State University. DIGITAL UNION ANNIVERSARY MARKS THIRD YEAR MAY 9

The Digital Union is celebrating its third anniversary with a showcase of projects from 10-11:30 a.m. Wednesday (5/9). The event marks another successful year as a nurturing new media environment fostering unique, interdisciplinary, endeavors in pursuit of innovative teaching, learning and research. BOGDANICH TO SPEAK AT FACULTY CLUB

Walt Bogdanich, Pulitzer Prize winning investigative journalist with The New York Times will be giving a presentation on The Future of Investigative Reporting in an era of Government Subpoenas on Tuesday, May 8, at 7:00 pm in the Faculty Club. Reception at 6:30 pm. Bogdanich, an Ohio State alum, is a two-time winner of the Pulitzer Prize for National Reporting. His most recent series, "From China to Panama, a Trail of Poisoned Medicine," - an investigation into illegal syrups used in medicine and the thousands of deaths caused by these poisons - premiered in the May 6 New York Times.
