John Glenn to speak at Ohio State's spring commencement

 John H. Glenn, former U.S. Senator, astronaut, and living legacy of public service, will be the speaker for Ohio State's spring commencement, set for Sunday (6/14) at Ohio Stadium. About 7,500 graduates will receive degrees at the ceremony, which begins at 1 p.m. Graduates and guests can find complete information on the ceremony at http://www.osu.edu/commence/. May 12: Knight Kiplinger to talk about his economic forecast

Knight Kiplinger, editor in chief of Kiplinger's Personal Finance magazine, Kiplinger.com and the Kiplinger Letter, America's leading business-forecasting publication, will talk about his economic forecast from 9:30-10:30 a.m. Tuesday (5/12) at the John Glenn School of Public Affairs in the Lounge Library. New Orleans documentary and Q&A May 12

The documentary Faubourg Tremé: The Untold Story of Black New Orleans, about the rich history of “arguably the oldest black neighborhood in America and the birthplace of jazz,” will be screened at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday (5/12) in 014 University Hall. Germanic Languages & Literatures: Spring 2009 Film Series

The second part of the second film in the series, Dresden – the Inferno (2006), will be screened at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday (5/12) in 180 Hagerty. Directed by Roland Suso Richter, this sweeping World War II drama, the costliest ever German TV-production, plays out against the backdrop of the bombing of Dresden in February 1945. MCC features Olga Loya, final guest storyteller of the series

The Multicultural Center invites you to share your story as a part of the OSU StoryBox project with Olga Loya, a Latina storyteller who tells bilingual Latin-American folktales and colorful and sometimes magical stories, as a way of examining themes like healing, racism and multiculturalism. Students are invited to a special Student Leadership Workshop at 7 p.m. Tuesday (5/12) in 300 Younkin Success Center, and the public performance at 7 p.m. Wednesday (5/13) at Hale Cultural Center. Douglas Brugge, associate professor of Public Health and Family Medicine at Tufts University School of Medicine, will present “Rigorous Science and Full Community Participation in Research” from 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m. in 518 James Cancer Hospital.
