Basso named senior vice president for talent, culture and human resources
Following a national search, Susan McGarry Basso has been named senior vice president for talent, culture and human resources. Basso brings more than 25 years of leadership experience, most recently as vice president for HR at Pennsylvania State University. As Ohio State’s chief HR officer, she will provide leadership across all HR organizations to enhance overall culture and foster strategic collaborations that drive organizational effectiveness in support of the university’s mission and vision. Pending approval by the Board of Trustees, her role is effective September 5.

OSUPD to hold memorial ceremony
Members of The Ohio State University Police Division (OSUPD) will participate in the annual Peace Officers Memorial ceremony on Friday (5/19) at 3 p.m. outside Blankenship Hall, which is named in memory of Officer Michael Blankenship. OSUPD will remember Officer Blankenship, who died in the line of duty in 1997. Respects will be paid to other officers who have lost their lives, and the officers who continue to serve the university community also will be recognized.

The West Campus Science and Technology Festival will be Saturday (5/20) 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Bring the family and experience the many science labs and research centers housed on Ohio State's West Campus. Creating Pathways conference

'Place' matters in addressing cancer health disparities
The 2017 Annual Cancer Health Disparities seminar will be held on Tuesday, May 23, 10 a.m.- 3 p.m. This seminar is designed for researchers, community leaders, public health professionals and others who are interested in understanding why and how "place" contributes to health outcomes and health disparities. Lunch will be provided. There is no cost to attend, but all attendees must register by May 17.

Golf tournament to benefit Collegiate Recovery Community
Student Life's Collegiate Recovery Community (CRC) is holding a charity golf tournament on 6/12/17 at the Scioto Reserve Country Club. Proceeds go towards supporting the mission of the CRC.
