Gil was awarded an honorary Doctorate of Music at Spring Commencement on Sunday (6/10). This is a unique opportunity to share OSU’s multidisciplinary engagement with Brazil and to gain insight into ways to improve collaboration with Brazilian institutions and scholars. INTERCULTURAL RHETORIC CONFERENCE JUNE 15-16The third Biennial Conference on Intercultural Rhetoric and Discourse:
Multiple Literacies Across Cultures,” will be held on Friday
(6/15) and Saturday (6/16) in Ramseyer Hall. Sponsored by OSU’s
School of Teaching and Learning and the Office of International Affairs,
and the Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis’ Indiana
Center for Intercultural Communication, the conference will explore
writing practices across various languages and cultures and within

REMEMBRANCE PARK BRICK PROGRAMWith Fathers Day approaching, now is a good time to honor a veteran
with a brick at Remembrance Park, established to honor Ohio State alumni
who died while serving their country. Remembrance Park is a group project
of the ROTC programs, the Athletic Department and the Franklin County
OSU Alumni club. Granite blocks with the names of more than 900 alumni
will be a central part of the park; a brick lined walkway will stretch
from the corner of Woody Hayes Drive and Tuttle Park Place to St. John
Arena. The bricks are $100 and have three lines of 15 spaces to say

vance.5@osu.edu OHIO UNION GARAGE CLOSED STARTING TODAYPhase two of the Ohio Union Garage restoration and expansion project begins today (6/11), which entails a complete garage closure. During the closure, BG1 and CG1 keycards will be programmed to work in the 11th Avenue and Arps garages as alternative parking locations. Hourly parking will be available in the Arps, Neil Avenue, 12th Avenue, and Tuttle Park Place garages. The garage will reopen in late September. Contact: tpinfo@osu.edu or 292-9341. Topics will include current treatments, costs and risks associated with childhood asthma, and the latest approach to diagnosis and medication control.
