BUDGET SYSTEM ADVISORY COMMITTEE REPORT AVAILABLE

The budget system advisory committee charged with assessing the effectiveness of Ohio State’s five-year old budget system has submitted its findings and feedback on the committee’s report may be sent to provost@admin.ohio-state.edu. By fall, university leaders will have developed both a response and an implementation strategy. In light of advice and feedback from the university community, the response and the strategy will be refined to inform the fiscal year 2010 process. The review is also expected to help the OSU community develop a better understanding of the university’s budget and how the use of resources promotes academic excellence.

Co-conveners of the budget system advisory committee were Bud Baeslack and Allan Silverman. Its members were Malcolm Chisholm, Michael DeWees, Steve Gavazzi, Donna Hobart, Anita Hopper, Chip Souba, and Craig Volden. Dick Gunther, Mike Sherman and Lee Walker served in an ex officio capacity.

As spring commencement approaches, Gee sat down with onCampus to chat about those changes, to reflect on his first academic year back in Bricker Hall and to offer his vision of what’s to come.
