OIT Walk-In Services Move to Central Classroom Building. On Friday (6/13), OIT is relocating walk-in customer services to 025 Central Classroom Building from 512 Baker Systems Engineering. The area is renamed the IT Service Desk. The consolidated location encompasses OIT's customer services and the Telecommunications and Networking cellular sales and support. Limited services will be available during the move, scheduled for Friday (6/6)-Thursday (6/12). Contact for the IT Service Desk will remain the same. Read more >

A NEW WAY TO PROTECT COMPUTER NETWORKS FROM INTERNET WORMS
Scientists may have found a new way to combat the most dangerous form of computer virus. The method automatically detects within minutes when an Internet worm has infected a computer network. Network administrators can then isolate infected machines and hold them in quarantine for repairs. Ness Shroff, Ohio Eminent Scholar in Networking and Communications at Ohio State, and his colleagues describe their strategy in the current issue of IEEE Transactions on Dependable and Secure Computing. FALLON TO PRESENT MBI PUBLIC LECTURE JUNE 10
James Fallon, professor of Anatomy and Neurobiology, University of California, Irvine will deliver “Imaging Nature and Nurture in the Human Brain: From Psychosis, Aggression and Murder to Politics and Free Will” at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday (6/10) in 355 Jennings Hall (MBI Auditorium). COLLEGE OF MEDICINE OFFERS SECOND HEALTH LITERACY WEBCAST
The College of Medicine’s Outreach and Engagement office is hosting the second Institute for Healthcare Improvement Webcast on "Health Literacy: Interpersonal Communication for Patient Teaching and Self-Management Support" from 1-2:30 p.m. Wednesday (6/11) in 106 Meiling Hall. CLOSURE OF OHIO UNION GARAGE AND COLLEGE ROAD
The Ohio Union Garage will be closed Monday (6/9)-Friday (6/20) due to construction and paving activities on College Road. College Road will also be closed south of 17th Avenue to Hagerty Drive. Hagerty Drive will remain open to allow service to Hagerty Hall, Mendenhall and the Faculty Club. Deliveries and service for Page Hall and Sullivant Hall will need to be coordinated with Don Bissett of Transportation and Parking (554-5668) for access south of 17th Avenue.
JUNE 19: YOUR FAIRY GODMOTHER DOESN’T WORK HERE
A workshop sponsored by the OSU Leadership Center, Your Fairy Godmother Doesn’t Work Here, will take place from 9:15-11:45 a.m. Thursday (6/19) at 2120 Fyffe Road. JOIN WOSU IN HELPING SENIORS PREPARE FOR TV DIGITAL CONVERSION
After Tuesday (2/17/09), the government will require that all TV stations switch to digital-only broadcasting. WOSU is asking all OSU faculty and staff to apply for federal converter box coupons and to donate the unneeded coupons for redistribution to the elderly. WOSU is partnering with the Central Ohio Area Agency on Aging and LifeCare Alliance to install the boxes in the homes of the elderly. COMPLEX AGREEMENTS: NCURA TV BROADCAST
Complex Agreements: NCURA TV broadcast will take place from 11:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m. Tuesday (6/10) in 105 Biological Research Tower and 113 Research Foundation. The program will focus on the multiple challenges encountered in translational research i.e., turning research results into products or public use. Register online

ALLIED MEDICAL PROFESSIONS GOLF OUTING TO BENEFIT SCHOLARSHIPS
A golf outing to benefit scholarships for students in the School of Allied Medical Professions is scheduled for Saturday (8/16) at Glenross Golf Club in Delaware. The guest host is Craig Krenzel, OSU quarterback during the 2002 national championship season. The registration deadline is Friday (8/1) and the fee is $95 per golfer.
