It’s finally here: All television goes digital today
Though WOSU made its switch to a digital transmission signal on Tuesday (3/31), the final deadline for every television station in the country to go digital is today (6/12). People with analog TVs who have not hooked up a digital converter box by then will only see a blank screen. The backlog of requests for government-subsidized $40 coupons toward the purchase of a digital converter box (one coupon per box, which can cost between $40 and $75) has been cleared, and consumers can now turn in unused and expired coupons for new ones. WOSU Public Media has a complete help page on its Web site as well as a public help line at (866) 723-4626 to offer advice on navigating the conversion. Read more: http://www.wosu.org/dtv
