Headline newsBOARD OF TRUSTEES ADDS MEETING TODAYOhio State’s Board of Trustees has revised its previously released schedule
and now has a meeting set for 4 p.m. today (7/12) at the Longaberger Alumni
House. The regularly-scheduled formal board meeting is scheduled for 9:30-11:30

OHIO STATE’S ANIMAL RESEARCH PROGRAM FULLY ACCREDITEDOhio State’s animal research program has once again been fully accredited
by the international organization that oversees institutions that use animals
in research. Accreditation of an institution by the Association for Assessment
and Accreditation of Laboratory Animal Care is considered the gold standard
for ensuring quality within research programs involving animal care and use.
Organizations voluntarily submit their programs for evaluation and adhere to
strict monitoring programs designed to ensure that research animals receive

NORTHWEST OVAL THROUGHWAY CLOSED FOR CONSTRUCTIONAs a result of construction, travel on the bike path between Thompson Library
and University Hall will be closed from Monday (7/16)-Wednesday (9/12). The
entire throughway between the buildings and the south entrance of University
Hall will be blocked. The concrete and brick sidewalk will be replaced with
asphalt sidewalks with granite edging. New brick pavers will be installed on

Will Hunting” and “Last Days”) returns to the Wexner Center
on Wednesday (8/1) to introduce a brand new 35mm print of his rarely seen first
feature “Mala Noche.” Tickets are on sale now. More information,

Rejecting Controllers: The Generalized PID Controller” at 10:30 a.m.
Monday (7/16) in 260 Dreese Laboratory. Hauksdottir is a Ph.D. graduate of
OSU majoring in control systems, has received several awards for her research,

More > HERBS AND DIETARY SUPPLEMENTS WORKSHOP JULY 24As part of Quest for the Best, the CIO’s Office is hosting Herbs and Dietary Supplements 101: Important Information for Patients, from noon-1 p.m. Tuesday (7/24) at the Telecommunications Network Center Kitchen, 320 W. Eighth Ave. Led by presenter Bella H. Mehta, assistant professor of Clinical Pharmacy, the session will outline the current regulations for the herbal and dietary supplement industry, review the current safety and efficacy information about natural medicines, and provide resources to learn more. N. High St. An overview of the disease concept of chemical dependency as
understood by the medical community, some characteristic behaviors of addicts
which will help identify a problem and a list of resources available to users
and families to help deal with problems of alcohol and drug abuse will be covered.

Arts and Crafts Exhibit. Staff can vote for their favorite entry from Tuesday
(8/14)-Friday (9/14) and the entry with the majority of votes will earn the
People's Choice Award, to be announced the week of Monday (9/17).
Only one entry per staff member will be accepted. The event is sponsored by

NURSING HOSTS CAMEOS OF CARING GALAThe College of Nursing will recognize 28 nurses at the fourth annual Cameos of Caring Gala on Saturday (10/27). Created in 1999 at the University Of Pittsburgh School Of Nursing, the Cameos of Caring Program and Awards Gala honors the profession of nursing and those individuals who represent it. To date, Nursing has recognized 75 healthcare professionals with Cameos of Caring Awards. Proceeds for the awards gala help provide scholarships to nurses who are furthering their careers through additional nursing education.
