Senate approves 2012-2013 semester calendar

At its Thursday (6/11) meeting, the University Senate approved the 2012-2013 academic calendar of two semesters, a May term, and a summer session, as proposed by the Council on Enrollment and Student Progress. The proposal was originally scheduled for a vote on Thursday (5/28), but the Senate at that time asked CESP to further review the calendar and conduct more community forums before a final vote. The proposed calendar was amended twice during debate at the June meeting: the first amendment moved Spring Break to March 11-15, 2013, and the second amendment extended the May Term from three to four weeks. The amended calendar passed with a large majority of support from faculty, student and administration senators. Read more: http://oncampus.osu.edu/2009/07/semester-calendar/
