Ohio EPA grant feeds sustainability efforts on OSU farm/research facility
A working farm just west of campus is being transformed into a learning laboratory of best management practices for water quality protection and whole farm sustainability. A $194,324 grant from Ohio Environmental Protection Agency and local matching dollars totaling $132,456 will enable the Franklin Soil and Water Conservation District to demonstrate several progressive projects on OSU’s Waterman Agriculture and Natural Resources Laboratory, 2433 Carmack Road. The projects will serve as application tools for current and future farmers and showcase environmental stewardship for students, faculty and urban residents. Read more:
Interested in dental implants? The Division of Periodontology in the College of Dentistry is conducting a study to learn more about wound healing around dental implants. You may be qualified if you are missing a single tooth or having a tooth scheduled for extraction on your lower back jaw. You should be at least 18 years old and a non-smoker with healthy gums and teeth. The study requires routine visits at 1, 2, 3, 6, 8 and 12 post-operative weeks. eLearning Professional Development Grant applications available
Apply by Friday (7/16) for the Office of the Chief Information Officer's eLearning Professional Development Grants. Recipients receive up to $1,000 (funding requires a 1:1 cash or in-kind match from unit, department, or other source) for individual, group and departmental support. OCIO HomeNet dial-up Internet access to be discontinued Sept. 1
The Office of the Chief Information Officer's HomeNet dial-up Internet service will be discontinued on Wednesday (9/1). HomeNet was implemented many years ago at a time when few dial up alternatives were available. OCIO has decided to discontinue offering HomeNet due to outdated equipment, a declining user-base, and the current budget constraints. Lane Avenue exit to close July 12
The northbound exit ramp from SR 315 to Lane Avenue will close on Monday (7/12) for approximately 30 days while bridge repair work is completed. Free LASIK screening at OSU Havener Eye Institute
The OSU Havener Eye Institute is offering complimentary LASIK screenings to interested patients. The LASIK screening consists of a thorough eye evaluation and consultation with one of the institute's surgeons. The visit typically takes about an hour and can be scheduled at the OSU Eye and Ear Institute or its Dublin office.
