Prakash receives Springer Early Career Achievement Award
Ruchika Prakash, associate professor at the Department of Psychology, has been selected to receive the American Psychological Association’s (Division 20) 2016 Springer Early Career Achievement Award in Research on Adult Development and Aging. This award is the highest honor of APA’s Division 20 and is designed to honor an individual whose work has made significant early career contributions to the field of aging. Prakash focuses on examining mindfulness meditation as a tool for cognitive and emotional rehabilitation in older adults.

CCTS Clinical Research Boot Camp
The CCTS Clinical Research Boot Camp provides an introduction to patient-focused research (in the clinic or using electronic medical records) for residents, fellows and junior faculty. Topics are: Session 1 – Designing your Research Plan on Friday (9/16); Session 2 – Informatics Tools for Research and Starting a Clinical Trial on Thursday (9/22); and Session 3 – Regulation, Compliance and Recruitment on Thursday (9/29). All sessions are 3-5 p.m. and held in 400 Prior Hall. Space is limited.

The Rivals Challenge celebration July 8
The winners of The Rivals Challenge will be announced Friday (7/8) at the Wexner Center for the Arts plaza (17th Avenue and High Street). The celebration reveal, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., will include games, photo booth, free snacks and JPops, along with the Thyme and Change Food Truck. At noon, the winning university will be announced, along with the top colleges/units and grand prize winners.

Free lunch! Ohio State consumer eating habits study
Researchers in Ohio State’s Department of Agricultural, Environment and Development Economics are looking for participants for a research study investigating consumer eating habits and food-handling behavior. All participants receive a free onsite lunch for participating in the 15-minute study. Participants must be at least 18 years old and will be asked to read an information card, answer questions about the card and complete an anonymous survey. Sessions are scheduled for mid-day on the Ohio State Columbus campus until the end of July.
