Headline newsOSU ARMY ROTC INSTRUCTOR WINS NATIONAL AWARDRetired 1st Sgt. Daniel Whitney from the OSU Military Science Department was
awarded the Department of the Army Outstanding Civilian Service Medal recently
and selected as the 2007 Enlisted Instructor of the Year. ROTC instructors
from 274 colleges and universities nationwide competed for the award. Whitney
teaches military science to junior and senior Army ROTC cadets at Ohio State.
The OSU Ranger Challenge Team has won back to back championships in regional

OHIO STATE TRUSTEES TO MEET SEPT. 21The Ohio State Board of Trustees and its committees will meet on Friday (9/21)
at the Fawcett Center. The schedule includes meetings of the Investments Committee
at 8 a.m., and the Fiscal and the Academic and Student Affairs committees at
9 a.m. The formal board meeting will begin at 10:15 a.m. in the Clinton Room.
Following a lunch with the Alumni Association Board of Directors at 11:45 a.m.,
there will be a meeting of the Audit Committee from 1:30-3 p.m.

at Stone Laboratory, Ohio State’s island campus on Lake Erie. Taking
either Insect Biology or Aquatic Biology for OSU credit, the second-year students
spent the week of Monday (9/10) at Stone Lab. A public school emphasizing math,
science and technology, Metro is a unique partnership among Ohio State, Battelle
Memorial Institute, and 16 Central Ohio public school districts. Read

7-8:18 p.m. in 177 Weigel Hall. The course # is MUS 694P (call # 21692-4);
it meets all year and earns one credit hour per quarter for those enrolled
in classes. This artistic adventure concludes with a spring concert. For details,
