Headline newsOSU PART OF MULTICAMPUS VIRTUAL COMPUTATION SCIENCE MINOROhio State is participating with eight other Ohio universities and colleges
to offer a multicampus, virtual computation science minor through the Ralph
Regula School of Computational Science - a
statewide, virtual school focused on computational science. It is a collaborative
effort of the Ohio Board of Regents, Ohio Supercomputer Center, Ohio Learning
Network and Ohio's colleges and universities. The school acts as a coordinating
entity for a variety of computational science education activities aimed at
making education in computational science available to students across Ohio,
as well as to workers seeking continuing education about this technology. Contact: sgordon@osc.edu
OHIO UNION GARAGE REOPENS ON SEPT. 24The Ohio Union garage reopens on Monday (9/24) and will be available to both
keycard (BG1, CG1) and hourly customers. The garage will open with 600 spaces.
Phase 3 of the construction continues through Early Fall 2008 and upon completion,
will create 800 spaces to the facility. Read about the Ohio Union Garage

science alum, will discuss “Taiwan and the U.S.: Allies of Interest in
Security, Prosperity, and Democracy” from 2-3:30 p.m. Friday (9/28) in
the Wexner Center for the Arts Film/Video Theater. Reservations are not required,
but seating is limited. The free event is open to the public and sponsored
by the College of Social and Behavioral Sciences, Department of Political Science
and Office of International Affairs, and the Institute for Chinese Studies.

discuss trends in translational cancer research during a free public forum, “Discovery
to Delivery” at 10:30 a.m. Monday (10/1) at the OSU Medical Center Biomedical
Research Tower. Introductory remarks will be delivered by OSU President Gordon
Gee and David Schuller, senior executive director of the James Cancer Hospital
and Solove Research Institute. Forum participants include Michael Caligiuri,
director of the Comprehensive Cancer Center; U.S. Sen. Sherrod Brown and U.S.
