Headline newsOSU TRUSTEES MEET, APPROVE UNIVERSITY MATTERSThe Ohio State Board of Trustees approved a variety of university-related
personnel, fiscal and construction-related matters at its meeting Friday (9/21).
Trustees
gave final approval to details of the university's spending and income plan
for the 2008 fiscal year, and heard final recommendations regarding prioritization
and funding of capital projects for the period of FY 2009 to FY 2014. Read

OHR ANNOUNCES DEPENDENT TUITION ASSISTANCE ENHANCEMENTSHuman Resources recently announced enhancements to the Dependent Tuition Assistance
program effective Autumn Quarter 2007. The enhancements include increasing
the dependent tuition assistance benefit from 50 percent to 75 percent of the
undergraduate instructional and general fee schedule for students whose parents
are both employed by the university and offering dependent tuition assistance
benefits to same-sex domestic partners and their eligible dependents. Dependents
with one eligible parent continue to receive 50 percent of the undergraduate

292-1050. UPCOMING LECTURE: CLIMATE CHANGE, SEA LEVEL AND DROUGHTJonathan T. Overpeck, director of the Institute for the Study of Planet Earth
at the University of Arizona, will present “Climate Change, Sea Level,
and Drought: Dangerous Anthropogenic Interference?” at 3:30 p.m. Thursday
(9/27) in 100 Stillman Hall. Overpeck was a coordinating lead author on the
Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change’s 4th Assessment Report (2007).
This is the Department of Geography’s Annual Taaffe Physical Lecture
and is co-sponsored by OSU’s Climate, Water and Carbon Initiative. Read
more > RECEPTION HONORING WOMEN'S PROGRESS AT OSU OCT. 10The annual reception honoring women's progress at OSU will take place from
3:30-5 p.m. Wednesday (10/10) at the Longaberger Alumni House. All university
faculty, staff and students - men and women - are invited to the annual reception
honoring women's progress at Ohio State. The reception is sponsored by the
President's Council on Women, The Women's Place, Women's Studies Department,
Association of Faculty and Professional Women, Women's Student Services/the
Multicultural Center, and the Institute for Women, Gender and Public Policy.
