Headline newsEIGHT OHIO STATE FACULTY AWARDED FULBRIGHT FELLOWSHIPSEight Ohio State faculty have been selected as recipients of prestigious Fulbright
fellowships, selected by the Council for International Exchange of Scholars,
which administers the program for the U.S. Department of State. Fellows will
conduct research abroad, consult with international colleagues, and lecture
to promote general global welfare. Fulbright fellowship recipients are: Robert
Agunga, (Human and Community Resource Development); Denise Bronson, (Social
Work); Wen Shyong (Charlie) Chern, (emeritus, Agricultural, Environmental,
and Development Economics); Laura Justice (Teaching and Learning); Joy McCorriston
(Anthropology); Christopher Reed (History); Duane Roller (emeritus, Greek and

MERSHON CENTER OPENS ANNUAL GRANT COMPETITIONEach year, the Mershon Center for International Security Studies holds a competition for Ohio State faculty and students to apply for research grant funds. Grants may be used for a variety of research purposes including travel, seminars, conferences, interviews, experiments, workshops and more. Applications must be for projects that relate to one or more of the Mershon Center’s three areas of focus: the use of force and diplomacy; the ideas, identities and decisional processes that affect security; and the institutions that manage violent conflict. Events). VOTER REGISTRATION AND DISABILITY AWARENESS EVENT TODAYA Voter Registration and Disability Awareness event will take place from 3-5 p.m. today (10/22) in the Richard M. Ross Heart Hospital Auditorium. The event features the Road to Freedom Bus presentation depicting the history of the disability rights movement with historic photos by Tom Olin. Speakers include Ohio Secretary of State Jennifer Brunner. The event is part of the Ohio Disability Vote Coalition’s statewide Get Out the Vote campaign. Faculty Research Grants. Grants up to $5,000 may be awarded in two categories:
Interdisciplinary Lectures, Seminars and Conferences, and International Research
Travel. International Affairs awards grants to fund research activities that
support international themes and which contribute to the mission of the Area
Studies Centers. Ohio State faculty, interdisciplinary areas and academic units
