Headline newsPRESIDENT GEE, GOV. STRICKLAND TO PARTICIPATE IN 4-H SCHOLARSHIP FUNDRAISERLocal VIPs will step up to the checkout and bag customer groceries to benefit
youth leaders during the “VIPs Bagging for Scholarships” event
held from 1-3 p.m. Saturday (10/27) at the Kroger Marketplace store in Gahanna.
Baggers will include Gov. Ted Strickland, OSU President E. Gordon Gee, and
Archie Griffin, president and CEO of the Ohio State Alumni Association. All
117 stores in Kroger’s Columbus Division will be collecting donations
all day Saturday in coin boxes located at registers. Monies raised will be
donated to the A.B. Graham Leaders of Tomorrow Scholarship Fund benefiting
Ohio students involved in 4-H programs, with Kroger matching total donations,

PULITZER PRIZE-WINNING COLUMNIST TO DISCUSS LIFE ON THE CAMPAIGN TRAILPulitzer Prize-winning columnist Connie Schultz will offer an insider’s
view of life on the campaign trail when she speaks at 4 p.m. Thursday (11/15)
in Weigel Hall Auditorium, as part of the annual Barbara K. Fergus Women in
Leadership Lecture Series. A nationally syndicated columnist for The
Plain Dealer, Schultz in June published ... and His
Lovely Wife: A Memoir from the Woman Beside the Man, which chronicles her experiences working
on her husband Sherrod Brown’s successful race for U.S. Senate. Reservations

Saturday (10/27) in Veterans Memorial Auditorium, 300 W. Broad St. The band,
under the direction of Jon Woods, will present toe-tapping tunes, Buckeye fight
songs, and selections from football halftime shows. Presale tickets are $15
(general admission) and $20 (day of the performance). The group rate is $10

292-3535. PUBLIC INVITED TO BIZ QUIZ NATIONAL CHALLENGEIn front of television cameras at the WOSU studios at the Center of Science
and Industry, teams of undergraduate business students from across the country
will test their knowledge of significant business news in a fast-paced quiz
show, the Nationwide Fisher Biz Quiz National Challenge at 10 a.m. Saturday

will present “How to Immediately Begin to Transform the University District
