Don’t be fooled. The OSU community is often the target of "phishing attacks" — e-mail which attempts to trick you into revealing information like your account name and password. These attempts seem official; however, OSU will never ask you for your password. Remember, you should NEVER share your passwords with anyone. To learn more, watch the Phishing Awareness video on YouTube, visit BuckeyeSecure online, or contact the IT Service Desk at 688-HELP (4357).

Silver nanoparticles give polymer solar cells a boost

Small bits of metal may play a new role in solar power. Researchers at Ohio State are experimenting with polymer semiconductors that absorb the sun’s energy and generate electricity. The goal: lighter, cheaper, and more-flexible solar cells. They have now discovered that adding tiny bits of silver to the plastic boosts the materials’ electrical current generation. Paul Berger, OSU professor of electrical and computer engineering and professor of physics, led the team that reported the results online in the journal Solar Energy Materials and Solar Cells.
