University advisory group to assist in parking privatization quest

As Ohio State considers privatizing its parking system in lieu of a large one-time payment to support the university's academic missions, a Parking Advisory Group with administrative, faculty, staff and student representatives has been formed. The group's goal will be to assist and advise Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer Geoff Chatas and senior leaders throughout the process, providing guidance and thought from each area within Ohio State.

Chatas will chair the group, which also will include Chris Culley, general counsel; Bob Schottenstein, Board of Trustees; Jim Rathman, Faculty Senate chair; Nick Messenger, student leadership; Heather Link, USAC chair; Larry Anstine, Medical Center; Javaune Adams-Gaston, Student Life; Vijay Gadepally, graduate student rep.; Brad Harris, senior fiscal officer, Arts and Sciences; and an as-yet unnamed member of the Faculty Senate Fiscal Committee. Parking vendor Requests for Qualifications were sent out in late September and are due in by Nov. 2.
