Good day!
Headline newsUNIVERSITY RECOGNIZES VETERANS DAY NOV. 12Ohio State’s Army ROTC program and the OSU Alumni Club of Franklin County hosted 10 soldiers from the 101st Airborne for the Ohio State-Akron football game earlier in the season. The group was treated to tailgating, attended the skull session, and was on the field for the flag raising and the game. The leader of the group, First Lt. Bruce Roett, was an Army ROTC graduate of Ohio State. The 506th Infantry Regiment is the 4th Brigade Combat Team, a part of the 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault) - currently assigned as the Army's Division Ready Brigade, ready to deploy anywhere in the world within 48 hours. The university will also honor those serving in the U.S. armed forces during
Saturday’s OSU-Illinois football game. These are just
two examples of the many ways the university honors our country’s soldiers
and veterans throughout the year. In recognition of Veterans Day on Monday
(11/12) the university will be closed and no classes are scheduled. View the

year calendar online.
NEARING AGE 50 OR RETIREMENT? WATCH OUT FOR AGE DISCRIMINATIONThe threat of age discrimination against American workers seems to peak about

study of validated discrimination claims. The first spike of age discrimination
claims seems to hit just when workers are entering their prime earning years
and their salaries are increasing the most, said Vincent Roscigno, co-author
of the study and OSU professor of sociology. The other spike comes when workers
are just about ready to retire and may be eligible for pensions. Read more
