Headline newsOSU:PRO DATABASE RECOGNIZED BY AAHSL WITH INNOVATION AWARDAt its recent reception, the Association of Academic Health Science Libraries
bestowed their Innovation Award on OSU:pro - the database that serves as a
comprehensive, single-point resource of faculty and staff expertise and scholarly
activity. An initiative of Ohio State’s Center for Knowledge Management,
OSU:pro was designed to collect, track and report on faculty research, teaching
and service activities on thousands of faculty and staff. OSU:pro was recognized
for the way it has reached beyond traditional library-IT boundaries. AAHSL comprises
the libraries serving the accredited U.S. and Canadian medical schools belonging
to or affiliated with the Association of American Medical Colleges. Read more >
INTERNATIONAL EDUCATION WEEK PROVIDES GLOBAL INSIGHTWhether interested in Latin American films, oil and the world economy, research
by Ohio State’s international students or study abroad programs, there’s
a global experience for everyone during International Education Week, Monday
(11/12)-Friday (11/16). This week Ohio State joins institutions in more than
100 countries in celebrating and recognizing international education opportunities.

DANCE PRESENTS SMALL DANCES FOR SMALL SPACESThe Department of Dance is presenting its resident and visiting artist dance concert, “Small Dances for Small Spaces” Wednesday (11/14)-Saturday (11/17) in the Experimental Media and Movement Arts Lab in the Advanced Computing Center for the Arts and Design building, 1224 Kinnear Rd. The concerts feature works from six resident and visiting artists, including OSU’s Candace Feck, Shawn Hove, Michael Kelly Bruce and Melanie Bales. Performances are at 7 and 9 p.m. with an additional 2 p.m. performance on Saturday (11/17). Tickets available at the door for $10 (general admission), $5 (seniors and students with ID). Avenue to be known as Buckeye Way during Beat Michigan week. OSU President
E. Gordon Gee and Archie Griffin, two-time Heisman Trophy winner, will lead
a pep rally following the dedication ceremony. Stop by Apco Industries at 777
Michigan Ave. and fill out an entry form predicting the score of the Saturday
(11/17) OSU/Michigan game and be eligible for the grand prize of $777 (or submit
your prediction online at http://www.Apco.com. MERSHON CENTER HOLDS ANNUAL GRANT COMPETITIONEach year, the Mershon Center for International Security Studies holds a competition
for Ohio State faculty and students to apply for research grant funds. Grants
may be used for a variety of research purposes. Applications must be for projects
that relate to one or more of the Mershon Center’s three areas of focus:
the use of force and diplomacy; the ideas, identities and decisional processes
that affect security; and the institutions that manage violent conflict. The
deadline is Monday (1/7/08). Details and application forms are available
online at (see the grants section). TELR EXPERTISE GRANT APPLICATION DEADLINE NOV. 15The deadline to submit an application for the new TELR Expertise Grants is
Thursday (11/15). The Expertise Grant program is a new initiative to promote
eLearning experimentation at Ohio State, and enables faculty to collaborate
with TELR eLearning consultants to develop and test their ideas for teaching
and learning with technology. Faculty can request from 20 to 100 hours of TELR
staff support, as well as up to $10,000 in funding, to support instructional
innovation. Up to two projects can be supported. Read more > BEAT MICHIGAN WEEK ACTIVITIES UNDERWAYBeat Michigan Week celebrates the spirit of the Buckeyes and the storied rivalry
between Ohio State and the University of Michigan. This year, the 104th meeting
between the two schools will be marked by events that promote Buckeye pride,
tradition and sportsmanship leading up to the noon kickoff Saturday (11/17)

www.ohiounion.osu.edu/bmw/. ENTERTAINMENT BOOKS BENEFIT BUCKS FOR CHARITY DRIVEEntertainment 2008 books are available to faculty, staff and students to help
raise funds for the 2007 OSU Bucks for Charity Drive. Each book contains hundreds
of two-for-one discounts for fine and casual dining, movies, sports activities,
special attractions and hotels. The book sells for $20 ($25 retail), $4 of
which will go to the charity drive on behalf of Ohio State. Books can be purchased
