Good day!
Headline newsSCIENTISTS GET FIRST LOOK AT HOW WATER LUBRICATES PROTEINSScientists are one step closer to understanding how proteins move when they
perform functions essential for supporting life. For the first time, scientists
have directly observed how water lubricates the movements of protein molecules
to enable different functions to happen. In a paper published in the online
early edition of the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences (www.pnas.org/),
Ohio State researchers report using ultra-fast light pulses to reveal how water
molecules link up with proteins and enable them to move and function. The finding
could one day help researchers find new treatments for diseases such as Alzheimer's,
Parkinson's, cataracts, cystic fibrosis, and diabetes. Read

CIO SECURITY TIP: BE WARY OF UNEXPECTED E-MAIL ATTACHMENTSCriminals often “spoof” legitimate names and write convincing
subject lines to lure you into opening their virus-infested e-mail attachments.
Be extremely careful when opening unexpected communications - even from people
you know. If you receive an e-mail with an attachment from a known source,
verify its legitimacy. Install anti-virus software on your desktop and make
sure you scan all attachments, even those from friends or co-workers before
opening them. More information on anti-virus products and links to free tools
can be found at http://buckeyesecure.osu.edu/SafeComputing/Virus. Utilize OSU's
anti-spam to reduce the number of dangerous e-mails you receive daily - information
can be found at http://buckeyesecure.osu.edu/SafeComputing/Spam.
