Mayor, President Gee open Neighborhood Policing Center
Columbus Mayor Michael Coleman and OSU President E. Gordon Gee joined community partners on Friday (10/31) to celebrate the opening of the Moody Hall Neighborhood Policing Center serving the University District and Weinland Park areas. The joint safety office at 248 E. 11th Ave. will house police officers at the location that formerly contained multiple residential units. The facility is named in honor of Bill Hall, OSU’s former vice president of student affairs who died in 2005, and former Mayor Tom Moody, who died Thursday evening. LIFESTYLE INTERVENTION STUDY. Volunteers, individuals ages 35-60, are being recruited for a lifestyle intervention study to modify health risk factors. The study will be conducted on the OSU campus during lunch time. Participation in the study will last approximately 12 weeks. Several blood samples and filling out of questionnaires will be required. Open Enrollment starts today
Benefits Open Enrollment begins today (11/3) and will continue through Friday (11/14). You are encouraged to enroll online at http://hr.osu.edu/oe, where you also can find detailed information about health plans and other useful tools to help you make the best choices for you and your family. For those who wish to enroll via paper forms, all enrollment forms are available in printable format online or by contacting Human Resources at service@hr.osu.edu or 292-1050.

A new travel agency has been selected through the competitive bid process. Travel Solutions is the new preferred vendor for travel agency services. Travel Solutions is a national, woman-owned business. Worldwide Megaconference set for Nov. 6
The Internet2 Commons’ Megaconference Team will make history for the 10th year in a row on the morning of Thursday (11/6) with the largest worldwide video conference. This year, 188 registered participants across the globe will share their real-world uses of H.323 videoconferencing and other compatible systems. Electrical and computer engineering hosts speaker on wireless networks
R. Srikant, professor at University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, will present "Novel Architectures and Algorithms for Adaptive Scheduling and Routing in Wireless Networks" at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday (11/5) in 260 Dreese Labs. Srikant is a professor in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering and a Research Professor in the Coordinated Science Lab. His research interests include communication networks, stochastic processes, queueing theory, information theory, control theory and game theory. Read more >
Visit the new Your Plan for Health website
Your Plan for Health is launching a new Web site powered by WebMD. Once registered, you’ll be able to schedule a biometric screening, complete your Personal Health Assessment, track your points through the Incentive Program, and receive customized information based on your current health status. PIN numbers were issued to benefits-eligible employees and mailed recently to home addresses. Look for your PIN in the mail then visit yourplanforhealth.com to register and start taking advantage of the new features the site offers.
Marion campus musical: Is There Life After High School?
Ohio State Marion and Marion Technical College will host a veteran cast of performers as they present Is There Life After High School? at 7:30 p.m. Thursday (11/6) and Saturday (11/8) in Morrill Hall Auditorium. Actors bring back memories of those common themes played out every day in the halls of American high schools. Attend an information session at noon Thursday (11/6) in 271 Campbell Hall and learn about the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's Team In Training campaign, the world's largest endurance training program of its kind. Represent Ohio State and raise money for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society in exchange for coaching, training and a wide variety of other benefits.
