Warhol Symposium: In this memorable two-day event, you’ll hear curators, critics, experts, and friends of Andy Warhol discuss his life, work and lasting influence. Friday evening the keynote presentation features Warhol biographer Wayne Koestenbaum in conversation with artist Francesco Vezzoli. Whittington gains national recognition for excellence in teaching
A faculty member in Ohio State's College of Food, Agricultural, and Environmental Sciences has been recognized nationally for her teaching. Susie Whittington, associate professor in the Department of Human and Community Resource Development, was honored Monday (11/10) with the USDA Excellence in Teaching Award, which was announced at the annual meeting of the National Association of State Universities and Land Grant Colleges (www.nasulgc.org/). The honor is the highest teaching award among colleges of agriculture and related sciences nationwide. Read more >

LIFESTYLE INTERVENTION STUDY. Volunteers, individuals ages 35-60, are being recruited for a lifestyle intervention study to modify health risk factors. The study will be conducted on the OSU campus during lunch time. Participation in the study will last approximately 12 weeks. Several blood samples and filling out of questionnaires will be required. Celebrating Tribal Nations: America's Great Partners Nov. 13
The Libraries Diversity Committee is presenting a special ReadAloud program, Celebrating Tribal Nations: America's Great Partners, from 3-4 p.m. Thursday (11/13) in the Wexner Center Cafe in honor of Native Peoples month. Leta Hendricks will read speeches and correspondence from various native chiefs, including "Open Letter From Leonard Peltier to Barack Obama." Gerry Greenberg will share selections from Dee Brown’s "Bury My Heart at Wounded Knee: An Indian History of the American West." Read more >

Benefits Open Enrollment tip: online enrollment
Open Enrollment Online is accessible 24 hours-a-day through Friday (11/14). Faculty and staff may review existing medical, dental and vision coverage, elect a flexible spending account (current participants must re-enroll), enroll in voluntary group term life insurance, and cancel short-term disability coverage. Open Enrollment Online is accessible with a valid OSU Internet User ID (name.#) and the password established for that account. Faculty and staff who do not wish to enroll online may print appropriate forms from Open Enrollment Online and submit to Human Resources by Friday (11/14).
Tolley set for encore Five Nights on Campus performance Nov. 13
OSU Marion’s Five Nights on Campus welcomes professional composer, producer and pianist David Tolley back to Morrill Hall Auditorium at 7:30 p.m. Thursday (11/13). He will present works ranging from ragtime to Broadway to classical, in addition to pieces from his own musicals and albums. Professor Garrett Fagan of Pennsylvania State University will deliver "The Roman Arena and Crowd Dynamics" at 8 p.m. Thursday (11/13) in 014 University Hall. Gordon Gee and Associate Vice President for Human Resources Larry Lewellen at noon Friday (11/14) for “Take a Lap with Gee and Lewellen.” In conjunction with Hit the Road with the Buckeyes, Gee and Lewellen will kick off a lap around the Oval on the steps in front of Bricker Hall. World Usability Day: Transportation focus of Nov. 13 event
This year's World Usability Day is focused on transportation. Visit the Learning Collaboration Studio (SEL 060) for a panel discussion with community leaders in transportation, a reception, and a keynote address about virtual offices and the mobile workforce, at 4:30 p.m. Thursday (11/13). Today: Dentistry students offer free exams and x-rays
College of Dentistry students will offer free oral cancer screening exams and free dental x-rays from 5-7 p.m. today (11/12) in the main reception area of Postle Hall. Participants must be at least 18 years old and in good health and will be evaluated for further free treatments in conjunction with dentistry students’ clinical board exams. Volunteers still needed for egg taste test at Parker Dairy Store
Earn a $5 gift certificate to Target or the Parker Dairy Store by participating in a sensory test where you will taste fully cooked eggs and judge each sample for appearance, aroma, texture and flavor today (11/12) and Thursday (11/13) in 122 Parker Food Science and Technology Building (Sensory Evaluation Lab).
