Reports by Task Forces on the Life and Environmental Sciences now available
The Task Forces on the Life Sciences and the Environmental Sciences have submitted their reports to the provost. The task forces, formed following last year’s review of doctoral programs, have made a number of recommendations about how to more effectively configure the university’s many life and environmental sciences programs. A program council will be formed in the near future to oversee the implementation of the recommendations. Multi-center lung cancer risk test includes Ohio State
The OSU Medical Center is one of six medical centers in the United States awarded a two-year, $1.6 million grant from the National Cancer Institute to validate the accuracy of a multi-gene lung cancer risk test in longtime smokers. The test measures 14 key antioxidant, DNA repair and regulatory genes in normal bronchial cells as a predictor for the presence of, or risk for, lung cancer. Read more >

Ohio State vs. Michigan web exhibit highlights football rivalry
Spend some time before the Big Game immersed in trivia and traditions surrounding one of college football’s greatest rivalries. The University Archives’ redesigned OSU vs. UM site includes the latest stats, as well as photographs and historical information about the teams. Graduate Associate Teaching Award nominations open
Some of the best teaching at Ohio State happens in classrooms and labs led by Graduate Teaching Associates (GTAs). This award, sponsored by the Graduate School, is Ohio State’s highest recognition of this exceptional teaching. New Undergraduate Research Awards

CABS Thanksgiving Holiday service announced
In observance of the Thanksgiving Holiday, there will be no CABS service from Thursday (11/26)-Saturday (11/28). On Sunday (11/29), CABS service will resume with the Campus Loop South, Buckeye Village, and Handivan service. Music organizations present lecture-recital on gospel singing
The OSU School of Music, Swank Pedagogy Lab, and student chapter of the National Association of Teachers of Singing will present a lecture-recital, “From Congregational to Urban Crossover – The Faces and Sounds of Gospel Music” at 5 p.m. Sunday (11/22) in Hughes Auditorium by Crystal Sellers, lyric soprano and nationally-known gospel artist.
