Five Ohio State faculty among 2015 class of AAAS Fellows
Five Ohio State faculty have been elected this year as Fellows of the American Association for the Advancement of Science. New Fellows will be welcomed in a ceremony at the AAAS annual meeting in Washington, D.C., in February. The newest Fellows are: Irina Artsimovitch, professor of microbiology; David Bromwich, professor of geography; Christopher Jaroniec, professor of chemistry and biochemistry; Ken Lee, professor of food science and technology; and Mark Peeples, professor of pediatrics and biological chemistry and pharmacology.

Student Evaluation of Instruction active for full-term classes
The Student Evaluation of Instruction is Ohio State's primary method of collecting student ratings of instruction. Second session SEIs activate Thursday (12/3). Students complete SEIs via OSU Mobile or online class schedules. Detailed information was emailed to instructors with active SEIs. SEIs close at 11:59 p.m. Thursday (12/10), or when a grade is posted, whichever comes first.

November is American Diabetes Awareness Month. Nearly 30 million children and adults in the United States have diabetes and another 86 million Americans are at risk for developing type 2 diabetes. To reduce your chances of developing type 2 diabetes, aim for 30 minutes of physical activity five days per week and eat foods that are high in nutrients, low in fat and added sugar and moderate in calories.
